Talk:Goff

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page was previously a redirect to Goth. A quick Google indicates the terms "goff" and "goth" are used somewhat interchangeably, however I think the family name Goff is a bit more prominent than the synonym for "goth".UndercoverParrothead 11:01, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Above by some fuckwit. What a stupid piece of shit they are. Reverted back to the correct terminology. 84.9.83.64 22:01, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
I couldn't agree with the language used by the above user, but it's perfectly clear that the synonym is more prominent. Goffmaster! 22:49, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
I've reverted to a previous edit to include some clearer language from a previous version. I also included a link to the Goth page and a reference to the Goth subculture. However, I fail to understand how one person using ad hominem attacks to a page edit makes it 'perfectly clear' that a page should be a redirect to another vs. including legitimate information about a family name. To create a user account for the sole purpose of eliminating the article on the Goff surname is over the top. Just because the word Goth sounds like the surname Goff does not mean that people use them interchangeably. People may say that Goff is another way to say Goth but I would disagree and say that though they sound similar, Goff and Goth are two separate things and thus the Goff surname article must be left intact. By all means have a link to the Goth article but please stop reverting to the previous versions that automatically direct Goff to Goth. BobbyG86 22:01, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
