God Bless You, Dr. Kevorkian
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
God Bless You, Dr. Kevorkian, by Kurt Vonnegut, is a collection of short interviews written by Vonnegut and first broadcast on NPR. The text of these interviews makes up the content of God Bless You....
The plot of the book, if there is one, is that Vonnegut employs Dr. Jack Kevorkian to kill him, allowing access to heaven and those in it for a limited time, before the good Dr. Kevorkian brings Vonnegut back to life. Through several of these deaths Vonnegut interviews a range of people including Adolf Hitler, William Shakespeare, Isaac Asimov and the ever present Kilgore Trout.
The title parodies that of Vonnegut's 1965 novel God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater.
The book was published in 1999 by Seven Stories Press.
