Gobar Goho

Gobar Goho was a renowed wrestler and a practitioner of Pehlwani wrestling. Gobar Goho is best known for his world heavyweight championship win against catch wrestler Ad Santel.
In addition being the world heavyweight champion, Ad Santel was also the self proclaimed World Judo Champion at the time, a title he proclaimed on the basis of defeating champion Judokas from the Kodokan hall in Japan from 1914 till 1921.
The world heavyweight championship bout took place in 1922 in San Francisco.
Gobar Goho was the first Asian to win a "World Heavyweight Championship" in the United States.
