Thanks :)

Not much of a break really - nonstop stuff related to first week of uni (admin + keep getting lost when trying to find places :)) I'll be back at the weekend. First task will be to design a methodology for the Wheatbelt articles and fill out the "routine" sections in the ones Daniel has expressed an interest in working on - I am starting to think demographic, geographical and such information is actually more useful in the one-real-town-per-shire articles than the town ones, which will be fairly confined in scope. Still working on that though - and obviously different scenarios require different strategies (Shires of Harvey, Northam and Capel for example will be almost the reverse, where the focus will actually be on the towns) Orderinchaos78 07:26, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

User:Xenophrenic

Apologies for my late reply on this question. I've had semi-disasters both around the home, combined with an untimely crashing of my home computer systems. I'm currently working from a laptop and I seem to be all thumbs of late (been a while since I used such a tiny keyboard) ;) My off-wiki mind has been distracted however I've used the time to consider your earlier question...

You ask (in a nutshell) "What can I do help Xenophrenic to re-establish trust with the community and clear his name of the accusations.".

In short, you cannot. The sum of each and every users contributions goes to make up their wiki reputation. Single purpose accounts (Xenophrenic appears to be drawn to the Vietnam Veterans Against the War article, which leads me to make mention of it being a single purpose account) are often associated with their own variety of problems, but on the other hand have often proved to be genuine and valued editors. Perhaps Xenophrenic should consider expanding their editing horizons and take a break from the dramas at the Vietnam Veterans Against the War article. The world isn't going to end if they dedicate time away from the article for a period of time I'm sure, until old flames die down.

If you're concerned about the block log of this user, which may not represent an accurate picture of the users history, you've got little (ie, none whatsoever) chance of actually having that block log edited to remove any mistaken entries.

Keep an open mind towards the problem. Sometimes unhelpful edits are made in good faith, and sometimes good faith edits are agendas in disguise. Time will only tell if a point of view is attempting to be asserted here I'm afraid.

In short, I don't envy your position, but relax, and realise there's not much you alone can do to restore faith in an editor, for they must do it themselves, via appreicated contributions, alone.

I hope my reply eases the load you've found yourself under. I've tried to look into all angles of the problem as best I can, but if I've missed information that should have jumped onto my lap, feel free to drop by my talk page and re-educate me if you feel it's required. Cheers. -- Longhair\talk 10:38, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Tops. In the short term, I reckon you should stick it in Phytophthora cinnamomi. There are heaps of other places I can think of putting it... except that we don't have accompanying text yet. For example, Stirling Range ought to have a sections on vegetation, flora and fauna, which ought to discuss threats to biodiversity. Hesperian 05:38, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gallery of Australian banknotes

I have to disagree with the decision to delete this gallery. The deletes were plainly outnumbered by the merges alone, not to mention the keeps. By my count; 9 delete, 10 merge and 3 keeps. If I am missing something, please inform me, but this should have been a merge. Joe I 02:41, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I can see reasoning now. Just want to make sure all images that were there are indeed on Banknotes of the Australian dollar, I don't remember how many were in the gallery. Thanks Joe I 19:26, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

How do you explain this coward edit [1] after my warnings, YellowSnowRecords? — Indon (reply) — 13:51, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Your note

I saw that edit summary, but it was a single comment by an editor on one day. Lots of people revert with minimal or no summaries - that's part of the wiki process. I think full protection requires a lot more reversions, on a constant daily basis. Out of 1.6 million entries, see how many are actually full protected[2] (182 for now). Also, having an admin involved is not a major issue unless that admin abuses the admin tools - admins are editors with POV too. I think you should reconsider. Crum375 13:43, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

In Moondubes do you mean Moondyne? I do not act in an offical capacity, nor do I show conflict of interest, in fact I am aware that Auroranorth made such mistakes and I hope to give back GGS its reputation... I will not participate in any votes or surveys, etc. which might show a conflict of interest. I edit on GGS Wikipedia articles with the backing of the GGS Archivist (she sends me info with permission to use, and I 'publish' it). Is there any problem with this? I don't think there should be any problems, I'm rather passive and quiet. I'll be on tomorrow night. Seventy ... dot ... 14:00, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Shark Island Challenge

I wonder if you wouldn't mind rationalizing your close as "keep" a little bit at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shark Island Challenge. There are several well-reasoned deletes there, none of which are really disqualified by people who responded. Most of the delete votes centered on the fact that the article doesn't cite any independent sources - every source they have that establishes importance are internal bodyboarding publications. --Mus Musculus 17:16, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

It's not suitable for CSD? Gonna have to better read all those pages... Thanks for notifying this, I'm going to file an AfD. —KNcyu38 (talkcontribs) 02:05, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

On WP:CSD#Articles, it says: "Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject." Doesn't this include the article's subject? —KNcyu38 (talkcontribs) 02:21, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
If the assertion is likely to be controversial or there has been a previous AfD, the article should be nominated for AfD instead. also says this Gnangarra 02:30, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Does it look controversial to you? Anyway, I filed an AfD, like you suggested. —KNcyu38 (talkcontribs) 02:35, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Move Indonesian War of Independence => Indonesian National Revolution

Hi there. SatuSuro has suggested i request you move this article as per the heading above. I've put my reasoning here: [3]. I've also asked USer:Indon and SatuSuro to comment - they have indicated their support elsewhere. Hope you can help. thanks Merbabu 05:11, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Many thanks. I'll check the links etc. Merbabu 06:33, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Highly recommended move - dont ever ask me for a full blow by blow description of the downfall of the title of Indonesian Civil War - through to the Overthrow of Sukarno title - unless it is at a meetup and I have the requisite amount of the amber fluid to help me, as the next one it is a breakfast - I dont think the bacon and eggs would be enough to allow for the flamboyant description of the long and difficult battle to get rid of the civil war label SatuSuro 06:50, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/1850-51 Australian cricket season

You closed the above AfD - some of the 124 deleted articles have been recreated. Just thought I'd point it out - Ozzykhan 21:31, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I notice you've deleted most of the recreated article, but I want to ask if they were indeed recreations per WP:CSD#G4? Of the two dozen articles, I only looked at about 5 or so, but they all seemed to contain more information than previously. The main argument in the AFD seemed to have been that the articles contained no content beyond "The 1850-51 Australian cricket season took place in late 1850 and early 1851", and the like. I don't know much about cricket, so I may be mistaken, but the few articles I looked at seemed to contain more significant content. -- Black Falcon 03:40, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

On the basis of your high-handed action you might as well delete every single stub article on Wikipedia. I accepted the consensus reached in the previous discussion and decided to recreate the articles with increased content and have generally used a similar amount as in stubs that have been accepted and retained. Indeed, the articles I recreated yesterday contain much more information than several of those Australian season stubs that had been retained previously.

Could you not have discussed your thoughts with me before going ahead with your fait accompli? Does it not occur to you how rude and arrogant you are? Do you not understand WP:STUB and have you never read WP:IAR? Evidently not.

No sooner do I decide to return to this site than I encounter someone who knows everything and is always right. People like you need to realise that the point of Wikipedia is to provide information to the readers. It is not a site for pedants and meddlers to practice pedantry and meddling. Or so I was led to believe. --BlackJack | talk page 06:55, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

I do not give a shit about whether "WP:CSD#G4" applies or about "WP:ARSEHOLE#92" as in this case. As for "WP:DRV" you can drive it straight into the sea for all I care. This site is a complete and utter waste of time. I refuse to waste any more of my time here. I refuse to communicate with arseholes whose role in life is to meddle and interfere and try to tie everything up in red tape. Go to hell. --BlackJack | talk page 07:21, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
