Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus (consul 122 BC)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus was consul of Rome in 122 BC.
He successfully fought against the Allobroges, a Gallic tribe, in retaliation for their attacks on Rome's Allies, the Aedui and because they had received Teutomalius, the king of the Salluvii. He conquered the Allobroges and their ally Vituitus, king of the Arverni, and he celebrated a triumph for his victories in 120 BC. He was subsequently elected Censor with Lucius Caecilius Metellus, and removed 32 members from the Senate. He also built the Via Domitia in Gaul.
