What is the IUPAC systematic name for this molecule? Is it hydroxyethanal? or carbonylethanol?
- The aldehyde group has higher priority than the alcohol group, so 2-hydroxyethanal is the IUPAC name. —Keenan Pepper 05:58, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
