Glynnis McDaris (born 1979) is an American photographer, video artist, and musician from Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated high school and moved to New York City at age 16, where she attended Pratt Institute in NYC. She works simultaneously as a commercial photographer and fine artist. Her works are shown internationally in galleries, including "Catholic" in Japan and "With or Without Me" in Holland, "Modern Culture at the Gershwin" in NY and "Saturday into Sunday," at Bespoke Gallery in NY.[citation needed]

Her photography is influenced by music and sub-culture, and it features a street-wise, sexually charged, decadent view of life, style, and celebrity. Early in her career, she performed with numerous bands and musicians that were the subject matter of her first published portraits. Her recorded works as a singer include 2001's Sub Pop release, "Let's Start a Family Black.. with the indie folk singer Will Oldham, and, as song-writer, the original scores for several Dave Denis projects. Beside recording, her photographic works of musicians and bands include Belle and Sebastian, The Yea Yea Yea's, Be your Own Pet, Dave Pajo of Slint, The Strokes, hip hop artists such a 3-6 Mafia, Yo Gotti, and Elephant Man, and rapper Playa Fly (writer of "Triple Bitch Mafia").

Her photographic works have been featured in various publications such as Elle Girl, i-D, Teen Vogue, Nylon, Vice, Jane, and People magazine]].[citation needed] Her portraits often features fresh, young actors, musicians, and models and recent published subjects include actresses Jena Malone and Emma Roberts; the O.C.'s Michael Cassidy; Lukas Haas, David Cross; and star of HBO's Big Love, Chloe Sevigny; as well as established artists, designers, and filmmakers such as Liz Goldwyn, Patricia Field, and Zac Posen. Her fine art photographs have been featured in numerous art magazines such as Self Service, Loyal, and K48.[citation needed]

In 2005, her work caught the eye of fashion designer Dave Denis and McDaris became the official photographer for his new collections and website. Glynnis McDaris is listed as one of the stable of photographers for the New York quarterly Topic magazine.

Also, she co-edited the art book, "Catholic", which was published by Distributed Art Publishers in 2004. Catholic featured original artwork about cats and included artists such as Balthus, Ryan McGinley, Roe Ethridge, and Bruce Nauman. She is featured in the fall 2006 issue of Rocks, a Japanese quarterly.

She is the co-founder of the consulting company WildCat NYC, which produces art, fashion, and music projects for companies seeking to reach young, contemporary audiences, such as Nokia, Art Production Fund, and Liz Goldwyn Films.

Glynnis McDaris resides in New York City and upstate New York.
