Glycosphingolipids are a subtype of glycolipids containing the amino alcohol sphingosine. They include:

They are a sphingosine, a sugar and a phosphate. they have monosaccharides bonded to OH of sphingosine by a glcosidic bond.
There are two types: 1) cerebrosides: have 1 monosaccharide 2) gangliosides: have 2 or more monosaccharides
