[edit] Irish

Hi, I restored Icelanders as most of the female settlers were Irish women with some Irish men taken as slaves- see Demographics of Iceland. Regards Arniep 22:28, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for your support. I was feeling quite upset by it all. You have made me feel much better. Thank you very much. Alun 12:24, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Irish people

Please can you give the reason for changing this percentage [1]. Thanks Arniep 17:34, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

At the moment the whole paragraph is confusing:
"The genetic marker R1b averages at 90% amongst Irish Y-Chromosomes, :Welsh Y-Chromosomes and amongst the Y-Chromosomes of the Basques of :Northern Spain and South-Western France. Haplotype R1b averages 73% in the :British Isles, 76% in Spain, 64% in Belgium, 55% in France and 40% in :Germany."
-(i) Are genetic marker and haplotype the same thing? If so why are they mentioned twice? (ii) Does British Isles include Ireland, does Spain mean all of Spain or just the Basque area? It needs to be clearer certainly. Arniep 23:53, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Please also look through the pages about how to edit an article, which are linked above in the welcome message. Your last edit to Irish people messed up the formatting. In the future, if you see your edit has mangled the formatting and readability, please repair or revert it. Thanks. --Kathryn NicDhàna 19:44, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi here Veritas.

We are having an interesting discussion in the Spanish People's article. Maybe you want to have a look. Veritas et Severitas 20:04, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Annon user

Hi, I have had some quite nasty experiences with this user. You may recall the very nasty personal attack on my talk page a few months ago? Well it's the same bloke. I don't really know what his motivation is, he has some very strong views, and seems to find it difficult to accept the validity of anyone else's point of view at all. He has made several very spurious claims on my talk page, he seems to be intelligent but also very biased and very intollerant of other people and their opinions. He never engages in talk page discussions, prefering to just make POV edits to pages, often insulting other editors in the edit summary. He is certainly a racialist and may believe in segregation/apartheid, but he claims this is because he supports "diversity". I don't know what to make of him, but he has made quite a lot of people really quite angry. He seems to have a particular dislike for me, I don't know why, he seems to be under the impression that every edit that he doesn't like has somehow been made by me. If you check the history of the English people page you will see very many insulting edit summaries specifically directed at me. I suspect he will soon either get a permanent ban or get bored. Wikipedia is a difficult place to edit for people who want to promote a single POV without trying to acheive a consensus. Happy Christmas. Cheers. Alun 22:14, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi globe

I got your message. I reverted some of his changes. Let us keep an eye on him. Veritas et Severitas 18:08, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your Etiquette

Your statement against User:Dark Tea when you called her "you racist" on this edit is against Wikipedia's Policy on Etiquette which suggests not calling other users "racist".--DarkTea 19:42, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Dark T. It is very difficult not to call you that name, taking into account your contributions. Veritas et Severitas 20:24, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Last change

I made a comment about the last change in the white peoples page. Australian section. I had in mind other people, with whom sometimes I have to use a language that I hate, but it seems that they do not understand other languages. Then I realized it was you maybe. I am sorry. I basically agree with you. You can change it again if you want. I am just a bit tense dealing with "some" people over there. Your last picture is very good, by the way. Veritas et Severitas 20:28, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Cheers, yeah i basically think what you added to the australian section was good and along the right lines, except that i wanted to add some anthroplogical data to back it up and remove the page reference. --Globe01 17:07, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I'm off

I'm off because of this. I'm unhappy here anyway. You are an excellent bloke. Have a good life. Love. Alun 02:19, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Thanks for the support. I really do appreciate it. I may be back at some point in the future but I'm going to take a break for a while. I think I was suffering from more wikistress than I realised, and it all blew up suddenly. Keep up the good work. All the best. Alun 18:24, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] British settlement

Thanks. Still a long way to go. I'd like to format it by chronology. I'd like to include some more maps and some infoboxes, and I'd like to merge the genetics with the history. I'd also like to change some of the headings, for example get rid of Beaker people, but have Paleoliothic, Neolithic, Bronze age etc. I'd hoped to be working on it now, but I'm currently concentrating on tidying up the Race and genetics article, it's a complete mess at the moment.
