Talk:Global brain

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A lot "The http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/GBRAIFAQ.html I don't know if this is an issue or not, since the external site is referenced.

It should be an issue if the site is copyrighted. But hey, isn't the global brain like the main character in Serial Experiments Lain ? Oh well, like I can make head or tails of that show. Lotusduck 20:24, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

A lot of this article is a just wild speculation touted as fact. Somebody who does the whole wiki thing should cut this severely and put a bunch of tags on it.

[edit] Copyright Violations

I have deleted a lot of the article because of Copyright Violations. The original article was copied almost directly from [[1]]. Subsequent edits were valid content however (if dubious in some cases). I've kept those. Captainj 18:33, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NOTICE TO ALL EDITORS

I cleaned up this page as per suggestion at the Village Pump. Please *see there* before expanding this article. In my opinion, additions should be put into a new section in the Gaia hypothesis article. Any questions? Contact me. Thank you for your cooperation. --unforgettableid | talk to me 19:33, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

I am unhappy with this. Either it should be a straight redirect page or it should be an article in its own right, one sentence followed by a link is innappropriate. Effectively you have deleted the article without going through the usual process. Also, there was a little content in the article after I deleted all the copyvio stuff, even if it wasn't brilliant. I am restoring the sections in this article (if you want the article deleted and redirect to Gaia hypothesis please nominate it the usual way).
Fine, your edits helped, I cleaned the article up more instead. I feel that by now the article is no longer a horrible behemoth that deserves to be deleted. I am merely worried that it will accrue cruft until it becomes equally bad again. This is a page about a topic that most people are unfamiliar with. Is there a good way to prevent such an, um, accruftation? Cheers, --unforgettableid | talk to me 00:32, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Well the page is on my watchlist now, and hopefully yours. I think we just need to challenge any dubious edits and demand citations. Ironically enough it seems to have more citations than most, which is a good justification for demanding new citations on new edits. Captainj 09:20, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WHAT IS THIS

I fear what I do not understand. Is this a valid article that is just really totally confusing, or should I nominate it for deletion? Lotusduck 04:50, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] definition?

Um, so what IS it? The global brain? This article manages to skip over any actual defining of the term. Jessicapierce 22:16, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
