Gloydius blomhoffi is a venomous pit viper species commonly known as the mamushi. It is found in Japan, China, Korea, and Russia. In Japan it is commonly called the Japanese mamushi (ニホンマムシ Nihon mamushi?), or just mamushi (マムシ?).

G. blomhoffi grows to a length of 40-85 cm. Its diet includes birds,rodents, frogs, and lizards. It is found in woodlands and plains with tall grass. This species is similar the cottonmouths and copperheads (Agkistrodon sp.) of the Americas.
