The Global Name Registry, Limited is the operator of the .name top-level domain for individuals' names as delegated by ICANN on August 1st 2001.

The company focuses on digital identity and .name is a core part of providing individuals worldwide with personal, memorable digital identities. At the moment, Global Name Registry offers two core products: a personalized email address with forwarding capabilities, and a personalized domain name, together a basis for any URL-based identity service, like openid.
