Globacom is a telecommunication company that was launched particially by the cell phone corporation, Alcatel; in Nigeria by 2003. Not only it offers GSM SIM cards such as the "Classic Package" or the "Premium Package", it is also the second national landline carrier after the Federal-owned NITEL. In 2004, the American software corporation, Microsoft, filed a lawsuit against Globacom for using pirated software at the control center.[1]
