W. GLENN BURNS -- ATTORNEY -- Glenn Burns is a practicing attorney in the Greater New Orleans Louisiana area for thirty-four years with a diverse background as a trial lawyer. A former Assistant United States Attorney and Assistant Attorney General for the State of Louisiana assigned to the Organized Crime Unit, he spent eight years as a prosecutor of political corruption, economic crime and civil rights violations. He was a prosecutor in cases against judges, policemen and bank presidents. The most notorious of his cases was the " Algiers Seven ", the prosecution of seven New Orleans policemen for violation of witness' civil rights following the tragic shooting of a New Orleans policeman. After several years representing the major public utilities in Louisiana, he rejoined his prosecutor colleages John Volz and Rick Simmons in a sucessful trial practice including the defense of entities before state and federal grand jurys. After Volz's retirement, Simmons and Burns teamed in the defense of Jefferson Parish Council President Bob Evans and Louisiana State Senate President Michael O'Keefe. Presently, he is assisting Simmons in representing Memorial Hospital Physician Dr. Anna Pou, arrested in an investigation of deaths at the hospital following Hurricane Katrina.Glenn Burns was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on January 13, 1949. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1971 and the LSU Law Center in 1973. He is married to Marianne E. Burns and has three children, Erin, Brandon and Connor.
