Gleno

Gleno is a city in East Timor, 30 km to the southwest of Dili, the national capital, but the drive takes about two hours on the twisty mountain road. It has a population of 29,000. Its geographical coordinates are 8° 43' 26 S and 125° 26' 10 E and lies 882 m above sea level.
It is the capital of the district of Ermera.
Being near the national capital, Gleno suffered during the intimidation campaign around the time of the referendum for East Timorese independence in 1999. [1]
