Glenn Stafford

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glenn Stafford composed the orchestral-style music for many of Blizzard Entertainment's video games, including the three Warcraft games and StarCraft, as well as the Super Nintendo games Blackthorne, Justice League Task Force and Death and Return of Superman. Besides this, he performed voice work for characters in Warcraft II, III, StarCraft (which he also directed), Diablo, and World of Warcraft.

From an interview:

"I've been here at Blizzard over seven years now, and I'm the director of the audio department. I started with the company in their infancy, when they were developing Super Nintendo titles for Interplay, so I worked on a fair amount of console games before we started the Warcraft, Diablo or Starcraft series'. My time is divided here between composition, sound design, and surround mixing for cinematics, in addition to the management responsibilities.

My training has included classical and contemporary styles, as well as electronic composition and engineering, the best of which I received at the Dick Grove school of music in Studio City, CA.

I've been playing music ever since I can remember. My father started teaching me piano at age four, and I obviously must have showed some interest.
