From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glenn Healy (born August 23, 1962 in Pickering, Ontario, Canada) is a television sports commentator and former ice hockey goaltender who played for 15 years in the National Hockey League. During his career, Healy played for the Los Angeles Kings, New York Islanders, New York Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. During the 1994 season, he was a part of the Stanley Cup winning Rangers team. Since the end of his playing career, he has been a hockey color commentator and analyst for TSN and the CBC. Pickering erected a statue of Healy in his signature "paddle-down" position outside their city hall in honour of his career.

Glenn Healy has been honoured many times during his illustrious career. No awards were more well deserved than the two awards he earned during the 1995-96 campaign. That year, Healy was honoured with both the Rangers Good Guy Award as well as the Rangers Fan Club Ceil Saidel Award. He was able to earn these awards as the Rangers number one goalie due to an unfortunate injury sustained by starting goaltender Mike Richter.
