Glendon Rusch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glendon James Rusch (born November 7, 1974, in Seattle, Washington) is a left handed starting pitcher who last played for the Chicago Cubs. He has previously played for the Kansas City Royals ('97-'99), the New York Mets ('99-'01), and the Milwaukee Brewers ('02-'03). He is now a free agent.

While Glendon has not yet enjoyed the success of an ace pitcher, he has been a clutch replacement and starting pitcher in his ten year MLB career. He throws a fastball that ranges between 87-92 MPH, an average curveball and an above-average changeup. He has excellent command of his pitches and usually fares better against right-handed hitters.

Glendon played baseball and basketball in high school at Shorecrest High School, where he pitched a no-hitter his senior year.

In September of 2006, Rusch was diagnosed with a life-threating blood clot in his lung and missed the rest of the 2006 season. [1]. On January 25, 2007 the Chicago Cubs released the left-hander. He had one year left on his contract.[2]
