Area Description

Located 5 miles West of Perth in Eastern Ontario, along Highway 7. It is in the Bathurst Ward of the Tay Valley Township, formerly Bathurst Township. It lies within Lanark County. It is a small community consisting primarily of farms with some smaller residential properties.

The core of Glen Tay can be found along Glen Tay Road between Highway 7 (The TransCanada Highway) and Highway 6 (Christie Lake Road). As Glen Tay Road continues north, it turns into Harpers Road by the school before you exit Glen Tay.

Roads in Glen Tay also include Sommerville Drive, Jodi Ln Ct and Park Ln Ct.

Fun Facts

The name "Glen Tay" denotes a river valley, or "glen" (Scot.) along the Tay River, which flows through the village. The Tay, which also runs through nearby Perth, was named by the founders of the Perth Military Settlement (1816) after the River Tay running through the Scottish city of Perth.

Home to Glen Tay Public School, which teaches students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.
