[edit] Summary
Drawing of glass O-ring joints used for making laboratory glassware. Both sides of the joint are essentially equivalent. By putting them together in the direction of the arrows with an appropriately-sized O-ring placed in between in circular grooves on each joint (not shown on the joint on the left side for simplicity), they can be joined. They should be held together by a clamp. The O-ring can maintain a leak-tight seal between the joints.
