Glanbia PLC (LSE: GLB, ISEQ: GLB) is an international food company whose head offices are located in Kilkenny, Ireland. Glanbia is a leading dairy businesses, especially in the areas of cheese and milk production and ingredients.
The company employs about 3,800 people in Ireland, the UK and the USA. Glanbia was formed through a merger between Avonmore PLC and Waterford PLC in 1997. The company's shares are traded on both the Dublin and London stock markets.
The Irish word "glan" means "clean", whilst the word "bia" means "food".
