Glamsbjerg municipality

Glamsbjerg municipality is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Funen County on the island of Funen in central Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 91 km², and has a total population of 5,909 (2005). Its mayor is Ankjær Stenskrog, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party.

The municipality's main city and the site of its municipal council is the town of Glamsbjerg, which is located on the main road between the cities of Odense and Assens.

Neighboring municipalities are Broby and Tommerup to the east, Aarup to the north, Assens to the west, and Haarby to the south.

By January 1, 2007 Glamsbjerg municipality will cease to exist due to Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It will be merged with existing Assens, Haarby, Tommerup, Vissenbjerg, and Aarup municipalities to form a new Assens municipality. This will create a municipality with an area of 513 km² and a total population of 41,201 (2005). The new municipality will belong to the new Region Syddanmark ("South Denmark Region").
