Gladys Powers

Gladys Powers (born May 10, 1899) is the last surviving female veteran of the First World War, and the last surviving Canadian woman to have been a First World War veteran. She served firstly in the British WAAF, and afterwards in the WRAF as a barracks waitress. She now lives in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Powers became the last living female veteran on March 27, 2007, with the passing of 109-year-old Charlotte Winters from the USA.
