Give It Up (KC song)

Give It Up was a UK number one single for three weeks in August 1983 for KC & The Sunshine Band.

It was the last and most successful of his ten UK hits, but still suffering from being associated with Disco, it would only reach #18 in the US in January 1984. In 1994 it was remixed by Danish dance group Cut 'N' Move & it went to number one on the Australian ARIA Chart.

In recent years, the song has been turned into a football chant in England, adapting the lyrics to either hail a player or give an indication to their fate (either "....staying up" or "....going up").
