[edit] Biography

He began his professional playing career with Palermo during the 1988-89 season while they were in Serie C1, and after appearing with U.S. Avellino the following season, he began to gain attention from Serie A clubs.

Taglialatela moved to his native club S.S.C. Napoli in 1990 during their peak, but played only three times. After two loan spells at Palermo and Bari, he returned to Napoli, this time to the first team. From 1993 till 1999 he became the number one keeper for the club and a fan favourite, especially with the "Curva B" at Stadio San Paolo who gave him the nickname "Batman", due to his flights in defense of the goal.

Since leaving Napoli, Taglialatela played as understudy to Francesco Toldo at Fiorentina, and is currently playing for Avellino once more.
