Bonnes Giulio (April 13, 1955, in Gorizia, Italy) is a member and guitarist for the Gorizia based punk rock band, Annanonvuole.
He discovered rock in the middle of the sixties while he was watching the Vanilla Fudge on TV, during their appearance on the Venice Festival. The event, that changed his life as a musician, took place when he came across LP records of Led Zeppelin and Whola Lotta Love on a shelf in the then shopping centre of Standa. The music, performed by Jimmy Hendrix on the occasion of Woodstock Festival, impressed him deeply, too.
Despite the fact, that his parents expressed an aversion towards modern music, he decided to play the guitar and, after earning some money during his school summer holidays, he managed to buy his first electiric guitar (a HB imitation of model Gibson SG), the amplifier Meazzi with tape reverb and with pedal distortion wah-wah pedal vox. After some years that had passed playing guitar in the underground space, he met Bill Hawkhead, a British singer, who accidentally found himself in Gorizia (the result of this meeting was, that Bill spent four almost consecutive years in Gorizia). Giulio formed a music group, named Sly Dogs, together with Bill (vocals and bass) and Ottorino Violano. The band played several concerts in the Gorizia/Nova Gorica region, before Bill moved to Amsterdam, after a year.
Six months later, Giulio had formed a new band, featuring legends of the Gorizian rock culture Giulio Nerini (guitar) , ex Oasis Marghera's Giordano Chiarion (bass – guitar) and Lucio Comelli (drums). Giulio recalled Bill to front the band, which Bill named "Radio Remix" upon his return to Gorizia and happy reunion with Giulio.
(In the meantime, Giulio had replaced his first guitar with a Fender Stratocaster and Marshall 900 Lead.)
The group won the ARCI regional competition at the great evening performance that took place at the Udine Zenon Theatre. Radio Remix started a mini musical tour across the Region Friuli – Venezia Giuglia. Unfortunately, the group broke up soon afterwards, due personal antagonisms among some of its members. Giulio and Bill tried to form a "New Radio Remix" but Bill was disillusioned and returned to Holland, where he had considerable success with various Dutch bands.
Giulio changed his guitar again. Until now, he has possessed the Gibson les Paul deluxe.
Looking for the possible members of a new musical group he came across the drummer Enzo Violano and the bassist, the then very young Gabriele Lamanna. They three formed The Exident. Like the previous group, this one did not plan to play cover but only its own music (always predominantly oriented toward rock). At the eve of some dates in Germany, the bassist left the group for the reasons, linked with his job. The establishment of a new group seemed inevitable after that.
Therefore the Danger Sex were born. They were composed by Vice (voice), Enzo Violano (drum) , Ariberto Lacerenza (bass) and, naturally, Bonnes Giulio (guitar). They remained together about three years . The tunnel of alchoholism from which Vice was not able to find the way out, caused his premature leave and this fact led to the termination of the group.
However, Giulio and the bassist, Ariberto, kept together . Anna Ballarin (singer) and Manuele (drummer) were drawn in the group The group went along the same artistic way as the previous one: no cover but only their own production. Since then the group has retained the same name, but its members have changed several times. Only the Giulio' guitar remained the same: Gibson les Paul has always been at the spot to ride the waves of the rock. (more of it on the web site).
