Talk:Gitanes

[edit] Most popular?
Does anyone have any evidence for this? Gauloises are suely more popular and are listed on the Altadis website as a flagship brand where Gitanes only have niche status. --DavidCW 23:50, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] NPOV?
Just curious...how is this article NPOV? Gitanes are a pretty interesting brand with a long history; if anything, I think that this article could be expanded. I'm no expert on the subject, although I have smoked Gitanes and noted their characteristic smell and crepe-paper filter. JustinStroud 18:10, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Not available in the US?
I just bought a pack of these today in the US, so obviously they are still available here. They do say Made in France on them though, so perhaps this is an older pack (they seem pretty fresh, though). --Ohm 01:22, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
You must have gotten extremely lucky or bought some seriously old old old cigarettes - or a knockoff from Russia (not kidding, they make fake Gitanes and other brands and sell them domestically and then some are smuggled into the USA).
I wouldn't smoke those if I was you - and I am not joking or kidding. --Mrtobacco 15:03, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
The article mentions that Gitane means "Gypsy woman" without mentioning that the picture portrays Carmen, the eponymous character from Bizet's opera.
