Swami Gitanand Bhikshu
Swami Gitanand Ji Maharaj "Bhikshu" (1918-2004) is a prominent figure in Spiritual world of india. His holiness spreaded the message of lord Sri krishna "Shrimad Bhagwad Gita" among indians and spiritual seekers world wide.
His Holiness Shri Swami Gitanand Ji Maharaj Bhikshu is known as Gitamurti (The physical forum of Shrimad Bhagwad gita) among all saint society. He is one of most prominent saint of north india and initiated hundreds of social service like Old age homes, Schools, Vocational/IT education centres, Eye/Bone operation camps etc. Free Eye Camps were originated by Shri Maharaj Jio's concept, before Shri Maharaj Ji's initiative in early 60's there were no Free Eye/Medical camps started for poor in India.
The biggest attempt by Shri Maharaj is in Haridwar as Sri Gita Kutir "Tapovan" Ashram which includes a big Annkshetra(food place) where 1000 saitns at one time sit and regularly get their food of two times, is running without any interruption from last 30+ years. A Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Very big GauSahala where once ShriMaharaj ji had a Shyama Gai, which is said to be one in crore cows (also called kamdhenu gai) which gived milk without being pregnant, yeah it was attested by all major officials of state breeding deptt. and Governers, But this is quality of Shyama Gai and she fed Shri Maharaj Ji for 15 years.
Apart from this Gita Ashram in Vrindavan, Hrishikesh, Panipat, Gurgaon, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Banswara, Ludhiana, Kullu, Karnal, Kurukshetra and lots more places in Haryana, Panjab, Uttaranchal, Rajasthan, Gujarat, MP and other parts of India have been doing various social service tasks successfully.
Spiritual practices of Shri Maharaj Ji is second to none, He has given the society some Jewels in form of his Disciples who are spreading the message of Shri Maharaj Ji and Shrimad bhagwad Gita. Swami Divyanand Ji Bhikshu, Swami Avshesh Ji bhikshu are spreading the message of love, spirituality and peace all round the india and World.
