Girlband is an Australian pop group formed in 2006. There are four members, Renee Armstrong, Renee Bargh, Jess Smith and Patrice Tipoki.

[edit] Before Girlband

The girls have strong backgrounds in the entertainment industry, with three of the girls being graduates of the prestigious Brent Street Performing Arts College. They have all gone on to work extensively in the entertainment industry in acting, dancing and modelling. Jess Smith has appeared in Blue Water High, Home & Away and Always Greener, as well as appearing in a range of stage productions that include Caroline O'Connor - All That Jazz; Renee Bargh has been a back-up singer for Delta Goodrem and appeared in a theatre productions that include Hats Off 2005 and Wimbledon Charity Ball 2004; Renee Armstrong has appeared in Bootmen (both film and stage productions), Home & Away and Always Greener. The fourth member, Patrice Tipoki, is a WA Academy of Performing Arts Musical Theatre Graduate and has toured with a number of musical theatre productions, including We Will Rock You and most recently, as the lead character of Nala in Disney's The The Lion King.

The four girls answered a casting call to form a world class four part harmony group for an Australian reality television series. Since then they have had a film crew following them the entire time, their journey that aired on the Channel 10 series Girlband in Australia from August through to October 2006.

The girls released their first single Party Girl on October 7, 2006, it debuted and peaked at number forty-three on the ARIA Charts.

The band's second single, "Electric", is due for release on 23 April 2007.
