Giovanni and Sebastian

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Giovanni & Sebastian are a fictional band created as a culture jamming project by Internet prankster and mashup artist Chris Shaw. Touted as "the biggest selling artists in Albania", the band's frequently profane, psychedelic music is created by Shaw in an attempt to get the band signed and into the charts.

[edit] Biography

There are three members of the band, Giovanninski Petra de Scrivolskarda, born in Gjirokastra; Sebastianinskora da Himmleraski Gros-Schrotta, born in Butrinti and Tattoo Nezrinski, born in Macedonia.

Their huge success has not yet been replicated outside of their homeland, although a number of their songs have gained notoriety overseas thanks to animations being spread across the internet.

Their most famous song, 'I Say Potato' was recently animated on the internet and received three quarters of a million hits. Another track, 'We Are All Juice' was used to promote a digital radio.

They have released five albums - Macedonia Pwsk V Illynask, My my Ladies Like, Yes, our Fathers are Dead, Yass and Inskora.

Despite their last album, Inskora, being their most successful, the Albanians have all but disappeared - possibly due to their Manager's involvement with the notorious Albanian Pyramid scheme.

"Dancing With Mr T", is one of the best selling Albanian singles of all time. The track, which features Giovanni & Tattoo arguing about the moon, caused a stir on B3ta radio after the unedited version was broadcast.

Rumours that Sebastian may be working on the new Barbra Streisand album have caused excitement among their strong, cult following. Menawhile Giovanni's infamous novel 'Truly the Song of God' has been selling on Ebay for up to $250.
