Giovanni Rosso (Hebrew: ג'יובאני רוסו) (born November 17, 1972) is a Croatian–Israeli football player who plays his trade at Maccabi Tel Aviv. Rosso is an attacking midfielder, who prefers to play on the center-right flank of the field. Rosso is known in Israel for his technique and freekicks.
Rosso was born in Split (then in Yugoslavia), to ethnic Italian parents. He played for NK Zagreb between 1994 and 1996 before moving to Israel.
Although Rosso had always wanted to join the Israeli national team, he was ineligible for Israeli nationality, but his form in 2004 got him called up for Croatia, so played for his birth country at Euro 2004. It was only later, in 2005, that he finally obtained Israeli permanent resident status. However he will never play for the Israeli national team, since he has already played for Croatia.
His name is sometimes 'Croaticized' in the Balkan media to Djovani Roso.
