Galli started his playing career for AC Fiorentina, where he played from 1977 to 1986. He then moved to AC Milan, where he played four seasons, three of which as a regular. Successively, he also played for SSC Napoli, Torino Calcio and AC Parma. He ended his playing career in 1995-1996 for A.S. Lucchese-Libertas of Serie B.
