[edit] Playing career
Gino Pisellini was drafted by the Plymouth Whalers in the 6th Round, 116th Overall, in the 2002 OHL Draft. Pisellini started his Whaler career with a bang, scoring in his first two games, including scoring a Gordie Howe hat trick by getting first OHL goal and assist and fighting Nathan O'Nabigon for his first fight, in his OHL debut at the Kitchener Rangers on September 19, 2003.
After his first season, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 5th Round, 149th overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. After two more seasons with the Whalers, he was signed to an entry level contract by the Flyers on April 27, 2006. Following training camp, Pisselini was sent down to the Flyer's AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms and played for them through half of the season, but he was not putting up the numbers he was capable of, so the Flyers sent him down to the Trenton Titans of the ECHL to help him adjust to professional play.
