Gingival cyst of the newborn

The gingival cyst of the newborn is a cyst that arises from the rest cells of the dental lamina. It usually presents as a white papule 1 - 2 mm in diameter on the maxillary (upper) alveolar ridge of newborns. No treatment is necessary.
