Gin Ishida

Ishida Gin is a fictional character in the anime and manga The Prince of Tennis. He attends Shitenhouji.

Not much is known about Gin other than the fact that he's a very serious and stern young man who has a younger brother, Tetsu Ishida, attending Fudomine Middle School. Tetsu's trademark shot, the Hadokyuu, was in fact taught to him by Gin.
Gin teams up with Kenya Oshitari in a doubles match against Fudomine in the quarters of Nationals, although he is wearing power shoulders during the match. He also plays 2 Singles against Takashi Kawamura in the semis, and loses.
Gin is thought to be the strongest power player in Japan until he breaks his wrist in his match against Takashi Kawamura. During the match, Gin completely destroys Kawamura with his first 23 styles of Hadokyuu, although the strain causes so much damage to his wrist that Kawamura's final Hadokyuu serve is able to break his wrist.

[edit] The 108 Styles of Hadokyuu
Tetsu Ishida first uses Hadokyuu in his match against Kawamura, and Kawamura hurts his wrist returning it. However, Gin comments that the Hadokyuu that Tetsu hits isn't even a real Hadokyuu. The only other person in Prince of Tennis that can hit a real Hadokyuu is Kawamura. Even so, Kawamura's Dash Hadokyuu, his strongest shot, is only equal to Gin's first style Hadokyuu. Gin is able to counter Kawamura's 23 Dash Hadokyuus (which increase in power as the match progresses) with his first 23 styles of Hadokyuu. His 24th-108th styles are even more powerful, even though they aren't seen.

Gin has the ability to nullify any Hadokyuu, much to Kawamura's horror as they face of in the semis of nationals and Gin counters Dash Hadokyuu once with the Counter. However, seeing Taka's determination, Gin decides to stop hitting counters and begins to hit Hadokyuu's again, facing off in a power match against Kawamura.
