Gimp suit

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A gimp suit is a fetishistic garment designed to cover the body completely (usually including the hands and feet) and to be very close-fitting. It often has an attached hood; if not, it will normally be worn with a bondage hood or gimp mask. The name derives from an association with gimps.

It may be made from rubber, PVC, spandex, darlex or leather, although leather (not being stretchy) cannot be as close-fitting as the other materials.

The difference from a catsuit, unitard or zentai lies more in its purpose than in its appearance. It is used in BDSM to objectify the wearer and reduce them to the status of a sexual toy, rather than a sexual partner. Unless there are suitably placed zips, the genitals will be inaccessible while the suit is worn, though they can still be handled and manipulated through the material, especially if it is spandex or darlex.

An extreme variation of the suit is worn in the movie The People Under the Stairs.
