Gilberto Yearwood

Gilberto Gerónimo Yearwood (born March 15, 1956) is a retired Honduran football player. He is by many regarded as one of Honduras' best players of all time. Currently, he is coach of Atlético Olanchano.
Yearwood has played mostly in defensive midfield for Real C.D. España in his native country, Elche CF, Real Valladolid, CD Tenerife and Celta de Vigo in Spain, but ended his career as a central defender back in Honduras with CD Olimpia, Motagua and Marathón. He scored 20 goals in Liga Nacional: 10 with Real España, 6 with Motagua and 4 for Olimpia. His nickname was "El Vikingo" (The Viking).
He was part of the Honduras national football team that took part in the 1982 FIFA World Cup. He played his last international in a 1993 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Mexico.
As a coach, he has been in charge of Motagua winning his first title, Olimpia, Broncos, Real Maya, Real España and Atlético Olanchano in Honduras as well as Dragón in El Salvador.
