Gilbert Vassart is a Belgian scientist and professor at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles. He is the director of the Institut de Recherche Interdisciplinaire en Biologie humaine et moléculaire (IRIBHM). In 1993, he was awarded the Francqui Prize for Biological and Medical Sciences.
