Giblet gravy is also a favorite on Thanksgiving Day in the Deep South.

"The term is culinary usage only; zoologists do not refer to the "giblets" of a bird." - Is it necessary to have the second part of the sentence? This is like stating the zoologists do not refer to the "t-bone" of the cow.
