Gibsonburg, Ohio

Gibsonburg is a village located in Sandusky County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,506. The girl's softball team is famous for winning the state title three times in a row (2001-2003) and the baseball team won state title in 2005.

Gibsonburg is located at 41°23'6" North, 83°19'18" West (41.384999, -83.321794)GR1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.6 km² (2.5 mi²). 6.4 km² (2.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.58% water.

The population density is 388.6/km² (1,004.7/mi²). There are 999 housing units at an average density of 154.9/km² (400.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 93.62% White, 0.32% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 4.47% from other races, and 1.16% from two or more races. 8.30% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 949 households out of which 35.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.3% are married couples living together, 9.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.3% are non-families. 27.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.57 and the average family size is 3.13.
In the village the population is spread out with 27.5% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 18.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 95.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.9 males.
The median income for a household in the village is $40,986, and the median income for a family is $49,044. Males have a median income of $36,121 versus $22,212 for females. The per capita income for the village is $17,482. 6.5% of the population and 5.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 8.8% of those under the age of 18 and 5.9% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
