[edit] Career

Very much like El Gigante/Giant Gonzales years earlier, Silva was originally an amateur basketball player.

[edit] World Wrestling Entertainment

He came to WWE on the May 25, 1998 episode of Raw is War. He may be best remembered for his stint as "Giant Silva", a member of the "Oddities" stable, although he also competed for CMLL in Mexico as Gigante Silva. Silva has since been paired with Dalip Singh as a tag team in All Japan Pro Wrestling. In WWF, although often featured at ringside during Oddities matches, he never really wrestled that often.

[edit] PRIDE Fighting Championship

Silva also competes in PRIDE Fighting Championships, a mixed martial arts organization based in Japan.Silva at one time did train with members of the Gracie family, most notably Ricardo Gracie. On December 31, 2006 Giant Silva defeated former Yokozuna Akebono by kimura in the first round at K-1 Dynamite 2006 for his second win of his career giving him a professional record of 2 wins and 6 losses overall spanning both PRIDE FC and K-1.
