Gianni di Parigi

Gianni di Parigi is a melodramma or opera in two acts by Gaetano Donizetti (1839) from a libretto by Felice Romani which had been previously used by Morlacchi (1818) for an opera of the same name. It is derived from Jean de Paris, an opera by François-Adrien Boïeldieu (1812) with libretto by Claude Godard d’Aucourt de Saint-Just.
It received its first performance on the 10 September 1839 at the Teatro alla Scala, Milan.
