Gian Pyres (born John Piras) was a long-term guitarist in England's symphonic black metal band Cradle of Filth, from 1996 to 2002. He has recorded with Cradle of Filth on four studio albums: Dusk and Her Embrace, Cruelty and the Beast, Midian and Bitter Suites to Succubi. Other bands he has played with include Solstice, Dragonlord, Christian Death, Ship of Fools and Extreme Noise Terror. He also appeared as a guest guitarist on the Suicide Vampire album by the Italian symphonic black metal band Theatres des Vampires.
