Ghari Bridge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ghari Brdiges are historical bridges on Mehran Rud, in Tabriz. Because of their age, currently both of the bridges are closed to automobiles. Some believe that there was an older bridge with the same name and at the same location on the river that was destroyed during construction of these bridges.
Ghari means wain in Persian and Azeri languages. The origin of this name came from the fact that this was the only bridge on Mehran Rud River inside Tabriz with the capability of wain transportation.
