Gevorg Sargsyan

Gevorg Sargsyan was born on October 5, 1981 in Yerevan, Armenia. Maestro Gevorg Sargsyan is a renowed Armenian conductor. He is the winner of Sir Georg Solti Foundation grant-award for 2006.
First steps as a musician he did as a cellist. In 1999, Gevorg Sargsyan,[1] as an exceptional case has entered in Orchestral Conducting Department of Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory (prof. Yuri Davtyan).
Being 18 years old on 1st year of studying Gevorg shows himself as a progressive student and has been selected by the rectorat of Yerevan State Conservatory to direct Conservatorys Symphonic Orchestra. He worked there until 2003 and has gone to Vienna (Austria) to study with prof. M.Cencic.
Participated on Master course helded by Dominique Rouits (Paris Conservatory) in Atri, Italy. Since 2002 Maestro Sargsyan is a honorable conductor of Yerevan Youth Chamber Orchestra. Has a close collaboration with ensemble "AUS-5", premiering mainly cotemporary music.
Since March 2004 Maestro Gevorg Sargsyan.[2] is an assistant director and conductor of the Armenian National Academic Opera & Ballet Theatre.[3] Furthermore, his name is included in the directory of 1000 Armenian Famous Persons.[4]
Have performed with numerous concerts in Armenia and overseas. Many musical critics and professionals like world famous tenor Gegham Grigoryan describes Gevorg Sargsyan as a very young but uniquily gifted and promising conductor in the music world of our time.
