Getronics N.V. (Euronext: GTN) is an international Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Company whose stated focus is on creating value for business through Workspace Management Services and Application Services. The company has a direct presence in more than 25 countries, and serves clients worldwide in a further 80 or so other countries through its Certified Service Partners and its Global Service Delivery Model. Getronics is one of the world’s leading providers of vendor independent Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services, designing, integrating and managing ICT systems and business solutions for many of the world’s largest global and local companies and organisations in order to maximise the value of their information technology investments. Getronics has over 25,000 employees worldwide. Its international headquarters are in Amsterdam, with regional offices in Boston, Madrid, Singapore and recently México.
The firm's history began with the incorporation of Groeneveld, Van der Pol & Co.'s Elektrotechnische Fabriek N.V. in 1887. Groeneveld installed control and technical equipment for the shipbuilding, utilities and construction industries. From there, over the next century, the company went through a number of transformations and name changes, becoming Geveke Electronics NV in 1985, then Getronics NV in 1988. In 1999, Getronics acquired Wang, and with it an international market. In 2005, Getronics further expanded its capabilities in security and applications with its acquisitions of PinkRoccade and RedSiren. The firm's clients span the finance, government, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications, transport, energy and other markets, and include many large multinationals.
