Get Out and Stay Out was a song taken from The Who's 1973 Rock Opera Quadrophenia. The track was used in the 1979 film towards the end as Jimmy (Phil Daniels) is kicked out of his home by his parents who after finding pills in his coat realise that he took part in the Brighton disturbances.

The song is based on the same principle as seen in the film even though the movie was made six years after the album.
