GetRight is a shareware/Nagware download manager, developed by Michael Burford. Its features include being able to pause and resume downloads, download from multiple servers to speed up download time ("Segmented Downloading"), scheduling the starting and stopping of downloads and shutting off the computer and/or modem when downloads have finished. It is widely used by users of Microsoft's Internet Explorer[citation needed] as this does not include a download manager, and it is also useful to FireFox users as it provides additional functionality.

GetRight 6 has a number of new features, including support for the BitTorrent protocol, Metalink, and PodCast support, along with built-in verification MD5 and SHA-1 checksums. This is a widely-used method which helps users to check that the file they have just downloaded is indeed an exact copy of that stored on the server, and no corruption has occurred during transfer.
