"Get'cha Head in the Game" is a song from the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical. It is also featured on the soundtrack by the same name. It is sung by Bad Boy Band B5.
[edit] Synopsis
At basketball practice, the East High Wildcats suddenly start to dribble their balls to a beat heard by them swishing the ball into the net and their shoes squeaking against the floor. Troy then starts to sing, explaining that "Coach said to fake right, and break left, watch out for the pit and keep an eye on the defense," and they "gotta run the 'give and go,' and take the ball to the hole, but don't be afraid to shoot the outside 'J'". He then tells the team to "just keep ya head in the game," and "don't be afraid the shoot the outside 'J'". He then chants, "U gotta get'cha, get'cha head in the game," and they repeat it 3 more times. Troy then tells them that they have to "make sure that we get the rebound, 'cause when we get it, the crowd'll go wild!" He tells them that this is "a second chance," and they "gotta grab it and go" and tells them that "maybe this time, we'll hit the right notes." Too late, he realizes he's thinking of Gabriella! He then tells himself, "Wait a minute! Not the right time or place!" He also tells himself to "get" his "head in the game," and the players repeat this, so he won't think of the new girl. But he can't shake the thought of her and asks the viewers (and himself), "Why am I feeling so wrong?" His "head's in the game, but" his "heart's in the song"! She tells us that "she makes this feel so right." He asks us, "Should I go for it?" but then realizes that he "better shake this! Yikes!" The guys try to keep Troy's head in the game, and Troy realizes that he's thinking about her-- in the middle of practice! Once more, he urges himself to keep his head in the game, but he can't. As the others chant their motto, he shoots one more basket, then leaves, wondering why he can't stop thinking of Gabriella.
