Hello, I am new to this server and my name [on the server] is GerundandGerundive. I like Latin, chess and Maths and am happy to chat about either of those two subjects, although I sometimes take a bit of time to reply. Could anyone please give feedback on this formula? I thought it up and I have no idea if it has been proved or disproved, or has already been discovered. Please could you give feedback on my talk page.

If \ x - 1=y,then\   x^3 = y^3 + ( 3 (y^2 - y))+ 1

Example;

\ 10-1=9 10^3=9^3 + ( 3 (10^2 - 10))+ 1   ;     1000=729 + (3(90)) + 1   ;     1000=729 + 271   ;  1000=1000

This works for the lower numbers, but does it work for higher ones?
